(Please, don't worry about the title. I needed to do this.)
It was a sunny day in Hollow Bastion and things were going normally. Lately, no heartless have been present and the townsfolk were cheerful, going along with thier daily routines. The restoration commitiee was in hiatus until the enemies showed up again, giving them a nice long break from the battlefield. Birds were singing like never before and no crimes have taken place ever since the dissapearance of the heartless. Even the kids were little angels, but there's always that someone who ruins all of that nice stuff.
Dante was walking through the streets of Hollow Bastion, yawning as he did. He was trying to find the Bailey, but since he hadn't been in this world for a while, he had no idea where to go. He had even woken up early to watch the sun rise, but since he was so busy trying to find this place, he hadn't even noticed it. His cleaver was hanging from his back, people giving him the suspicious look that he despised so much. He looked around for a little longer and then gave up, sitting on a crate.
Dante yawned once more and looked around to see if anyone else was watching him, but no one was, which gave him slight relief. Now all he had to do was wait for someone to ask him what he was doing here, then he could get some answers.

Step, step, step...
Mora shoved her hat onto her head, very happy that it could easily hide her obnoxiously red hair. Or at least, whan she wanted to hide her hair.
Usually, that's not too often. But right now, she wanted as little going on as possible. So when she had her beret turn into a ski cap, she was thankful.
See, Hollow Bastion is a pretty popular place nowadays. And popular means the likelyhood of being spotted by someone she knew rose a good five times or so.
Sitting on top of the big blue Bailey, Mora yawned. And man, was it a yawn or what? Not so much loud as big. You could count the molars. Impressive.
She fell back and rested, laying down on top of the bailey roof. Not exactly a ton to do today. So, she began to kick her feet out and back.
Right up until one banged loudly against the gate.
Yow.

Bang
That sound startled Dante, forcing him to jump up from his crate to see what had happened. Where did that sound come from? At that point in time, he saw two dangling legs that were... well... dangling off the side of a roof. He sighed, knowing that it was just a careless person. He stepped on the crate and reached up to tap the feet that were convinently hanging from the building and then he spoke to the person.
"Hey, what's the big idea person? You wana be more careful next time you lay on a roof?"

W-what? Mora jolted up at the poke in the leg. One second later, her head was where her feet were.
Baaaaaaadun. Some tall guy was going about poking her in the foot. Nngeh.
Now annoyed, though not extravagantly so, Mora shouted at him,
"Hey, what's the big idea?! Poking people an' yelling at them's rude where I come from!"
...not that she'd bothered to listen to the yelling.

"What the heck?! You're the one who keeps making such loud noises!" This person was going to be one of the people on his hit list. Didn't she understand what he had said? So many people who are so annoying and all. Dante wondered if all of the peacefulness of Hollow Bastion was going to burn in ashes. He waited for the girl to respond, an annoyed look on his face.

"I'm sorry, what?" Mora's face took on a dark red hue. Rotten little-- okay, maybe not little. But the arrogant rotten tall guy's making false accuisations now! What the heck? "I banged my foot against the bailey door once!
"Once!"

"Yeah, and I was trying to... Wait... what?" Did Dante hear right?! Was this the Bailey that he was looking for?! He felt like he was going to hug this annoying little person, but he kept himself calm as he thanked her. "Thank you, thank you! I've been loking for this darn thing since this morning! Just don't be banging on gates again, K?" Dante left the girl, stepping off of the crate and into the Bailey. This was so awesome!
He couldn't believe it! This was where he spent most of his time before leaving to find Destiny Islands. The view was superb! He couldn't believe that it was right here the entire time and he didn't know it. Maybe the girl was useful for something. Maybe.

. . .um... what?
Mora remained in the upside down hair position for a good minute while contemplating what had just occured.
...right. Guy comes, pokes yells. Mora yells, complains (with logic). Guy thanks her and enters bailey.
...logic meter's reading nil.
Grabbing her gun and strapping it to her back, Mora jumped down to the crate the guy'd just been on, and then to the floor. Without bothering to think it through, Mora followed him into the place.

Dante heard someone come in, no doubt it was the girl. He looked over and sure enough, it was her. What did she want? Well, whatever it was, he'd better start small talk. "Sorry about getting angry, just a little tired, you know?" Dante looked back towards the endless horizon a giant grin spreading across his face. This was all he wanted in life. Something as peaceful as this. It was so.. beautiful. To him, at least.
He wondered what the girl though of the view. Probably not much, but it would be interesting to hear her takes on the world, with anybody, actually.

Tired, eh? Mora could accept that as an excuse. Smiling, she crossed her arms and leaned back against the wall behind the balcony thing.
Wasn't a half bad view. Reminded her of home, sorta. Maybe if there were a little less, well, ground.
She looked down. Mmm. But now probably wasn't the time for reminiscing.
Pulling her eyes up, with her head soon following, Mora skimmed her eyes over the tall guy.
Oh, my. That's one big cleaver. was her first thought.
He needed to stand on a box to poke me? was the second.
The third was her realizing she'd probably have to come up with something to say. Dang.
Cue the awkward silence.
...
. . .
. . . . . . . . . .
"...Mora." she muttered. "My name's Mora. Yours?"

"Dante... my name's Dante. It's a pleasure to meet you, Mora,"Dante said as he looked around to get a better view of Mora. The only thing he really saw of her was her face. That gun she was holding.. it reminded him of his tournament back when he was an apprentice. The guy had a gun and he was from the darkness, like himself.
He just sat there and fired like crazy. Dante couldn't do anything except run and cover. The only time he could ever actually attack him was when he was reloading, and even that didn't give him enough time to react. Eventually, though, he killed him. He was quite proud of himself, too.

Mora nodded uneasily. Going from scratching at each other's throats to making small talk was a bit of an awkward turn of events, but Dante didn't seem to give it a second thought.
Kinda wierd.
"So..." she asked, her head going in a circle to match the inflection her voice gave off, "what'cha doing in old Hollow Bastion?"

"Well, I was searching for the Bailey. I haven't been here for so long that I had forgotten where it was, but thanks to you, I'm here." Mora seemed nice. Nicer than she first appeared to be. The sun was still blazing in the sky, sending light to the more extravagent places in Hollow Bastion. He decided to ask Mora the same question she asked him. "What about you? Why are you in Hollow Bastion?"

Mora shrugged. "Nothing big. My birthday was yesterday, and I thought I'd just do some poking around."
In all actuality, birthdays were a big thing back on her homeworld of Audityre. You'd have the whole neighborhood practically over and celebrating like there's no tomorrow. Mora was, frankly, sick of the whole ordeal. Now that she was on her own, mostly, she'd decided to start a different kind of tradition of her own. Just a nice trip to a new world.
Nothing big, nothing fancy.

"Well, happy belated birthday, Mora." Dante wondered if Mora celebrated her birthday. Dante never really did anything on his birthday, not even when he was still a normal schoolboy. He would just sit around and hope for something to happen. His mother would let him stay home on his birthday, which was pretty awesome. But now things have changed. His mother doesn't recognize him, neither does the rest of his family, but that's fine with him. As long as they didn't feel any pain, knowing that he wasn't comin home.
