((Understandable, still I think it would be a good idea to have my share of pain now.))
It happen much to fast for Eve to counter that in all reality she was taken back, quite literally. The blow sent up into the air and clear over some fragments of worlds. She ended up landing hard on her back and just laid there staring up at the moon. It was quiet for a good five minute, until a faint laugh could be heard. As the laughter continued it got louder and more sadistic. If there was a camera on Eve, the scene would probably be something from a horror film. The look in her eyes said that she was enjoying every bit of the pain and she was ready to keep going. Her mouth just oozed black liquid that in some case could qualify as her 'blood'. And the area where the Drifters attack land was charred and burnt. And she was just lying there laughing.
Beautiful, it's been forever since I've had a fight this good. If I had a hat, I'd tip it to you but of course I don't.
Slowly lifting herself up she summoned Corrupt from a portal of darkness, and looked at the handle that, surprisingly enough, she still had in her hand. Slowly she walked around her 'hiding spot' and looked at Drifter and just smiled.
I know I've said this but you are a turn on, my dear Drifter.

The blow had hit home, snapping the wire attaching her sword and sending the heartless flying into the distance. Standing there in silence, he stood up from his stance and looked back at the blade he captured, seeing the blade disintegrate into darkness. Feeling the blood run down his shoulder, he sighed before muttering a few words, Walking in a circle while dragging Rune Soul in the ground. upon completion, he hefted the blade before his face, and continued the ritual, as if praying.
Five minutes later, he heard a sick sort of laughter fill the air, crackling and filling the area with malice. Stopping his chanting, he sighed aloud before turning toward the source. "Seriously, you really need to learn when you've been beat, you know that?" Rubbing his head with his good arm, he stepped out of his circle, which shimmered faintly in the moonlight. At least I have my back-up plan at this point, he thought, half sulking as the battered Eve limped out her her corner, black blood running out of her mouth, and a sadistic grin on her face.
Looking at the Heartless with an eye cocked, he listened to her words and frowned. "Still on that rant, huh? I figured that last blow would have knocked it right out of you," he commented, hefting Rune Soul onto his shoulder. The wound on his arm, while not very serious, could impact his capacity for combat. Fight or Flight, huh?
Sighing in an exaggerated tone, he shook his head. "For a molten blob of instinct, you should be fleeing from me at this point. Some heartless you are," he pouted, readying his sword with one hand. "I'll say this again. You can walk away at any time. I'm just about to make my exit, at any rate. Just know that I'm always gonna be one step out of your reach," he commented popping his neck and letting his Over-soul flicker in an non-existent wind.

((I hope you don't mind if I use something from the profile for this next bit here.))
Eve twirled the handle in her hand as it turned into a buckler. And with flick of her other hand six copies were made and the smoothly moved into their place. Eve winced a little bit from the pain but continued grinning.
I could learn, but whats the point. I may be a blob, but I'm not. I could have run, but I won't. You may be a step out of 'my' reach, but just remember this. You're never out of reach of your dark past. #1...5...0...9.

He stood in silence, numbed by her words. His gaze indicated a number of things...shock, terror...and then an overwhelming wrath. And filled with blood-lust, his Over-Soul went berserk, flaring to ten times it's intended size, and then ten times over, casting the ruined remains of the world in a burning light.
"Can you even comprehend the meaning behind those numbers?"
His voice was eerily calm, and despite the light he appeared as a shadow at the heart of his power, his eyes glowing electric blue from out of the shadows. He walked forward, slowly, as the Over-soul began to condense around him, growing brighter. "1508 souls. 1508 children, torn away from their murdered families and sacrificed for a cult's sick desire for power. 1508 boys and girls, murdered for a perverse desire, before they succeeded. Many had their hearts torn out. Others had their souls ripped from their bodies. And some literally drained themselves to dust, unable to control and contain the experiments implanted into their bodies."
Standing 10 feet away from the heartless, Iryoku's Over-soul had condensed to a regular size, but had not lost any of it's intensity. "I, of all those children, survived- the 1509th one, whereas 1508 children died before me, many of them my friends. And you ignorantly speak like you know me, and haughtily act as if I am running in fear. I say unto you now:
"I am better than that."
The shadow around Iryoku lifted, and he gazed down at the flickering shadow before him, his eyes still glowing with electric blue energy. "I step forward to tomorrow, with the intent of cutting down anyone or anything that dares to hinder my right to exist. I neither run nor hide- I drift, from place to place, enforcing my right to live as I choose, how I choose."
And without warning he swung his hand upward, launching a blade of glowing wind at Eve, intending to rend her in the stomach. Without pause he closed the distance and brought his hand down and before him, unleashing another lightning spell upon her. "And without a soul, a pathetic existence such as yourself cannot hope to beat me."

((And it shall keep coming, love the groundwork for this ability. Now if you will allow me, I'm going to be the annoying cockroach no one wants.))
Eve only expected this to happen. Being darkness, it was in her to have a connection after this long of exposure to this 'meal'... no not meal. A word that she can't describe or use. It was something. Throughout this ordeal she just smiled, never backing off or wincing from the pain. At this point, it's impossible to understand how this 'woman' ticked or was living for that matter. More 'blood' poured out of her mouth as she just layed there again looking up to the moon and more importantly to the Drifter.
1508... Dead... Non-existence... Power... Power is the rise and fall of many pasts, presents, futures... Existence, Nothing... Light and Dark. Fate... everyone is fated. You... Looking at Drifter with a more define look. Were fated to live... you did not chose to live. It was define. I, not me of now, was fated to die. And to bring into these worlds - two. Two of opposite sides, one of existence, one of nothing. One of pure, one of corrupt. One of complete, one of inprefection. I ask you, who is looking at you right now. 1508 lost look at you now, and one of complete. I may know nothing about you now, but I know what was you. #1509... no... Iryoku... "the Drifter"
As soon as she was finished the buckler on her arm wrapped around her entire hand and produced a blade that stuck out at least a foot. And she swung it into the side of his body as she slow using her other hand wrapped it around his neck. She pulled herself close to his ear and whisper I'm not as pathetic as I look.
((I know it doesn't make sense, but hey come on. If this was a show, people would be creeped and excited by this.))

Standing over the Heartless, Iryoku looked on as the Heartless rambled on, deciphering what it spoke with a grain of salt. And then she spoke his name. Taken aback, he let his guard down...and suffered for it. In a split second she pierced his side, and her hand was around his throat. Gritting his teeth in pain, he felt his Over-soul quiver around him, pushing away the dirt around his feet. "No. You really are pathetic. You can't even realize who you are," he growled, he voice coming out cleanly.
Eve's hand did not grasp the flesh of his throat, but the now tangible Over-soul around it. Her blow had pierced flesh, but the blow had been weakened by the electric-blue flame engulfing his body. The Over-soul hadn't just flared up- it had evolved. "It's all 'Fate'? Don't make me laugh- that's a fall back for those too cowardly to walk their own path no matter the cost." He laid a hand onto Eve's weapon, and generated another explosion of blue flame, intending to shatter it and possibly her hand. Tearing himself free from her grasp, he stepped backwards and launched a kick at her sternum, intending to knock her off her feet.
"And how the hell do you know my name? Nobody knows my name, and I sure as hell didn't tell you it," he questioned aggressively, holding his side with his free hand. The longer this fight dragged on, the worse it would get...but as if he would run away. He wouldn't be able to stand himself if he ran away.

After more assualt, once again Eve was on her back. But this time she wasn't doing anything. No smiling, laughing or staring; it was just a neutral state. Pain was there but it didn't matter. 'Blood' stopped flowing in large amounts, it just flowed in a small stream. She just slowly lifted herself up and in a weak sort of way she lifted her hands out to the side. Two portals of darkness appeared and engulfed her hands, she 'looked' up at Iryoku throught all the memories that started flowing across her vision.
Who am I really... Who was I? What path is there to walk for me, all that can be said is that I may know more than her. All that can be said is that I know from the darkness, everything... is known but never shown. What is it that I can see... I see the memories of Eclair, but is it true?

"There are as many truths as there are stars."
Looking down at the woman, Iryoku watched sadly as she gazed up at him, apparently down for the moment. She didn't answer his question...but she wasn't in any condition at this point. "I can't honestly say...but it sounds like you've been in a well this entire time, looking up at the sky. You know of things outside, but can only imagine them. Naturally, the best way is to leave the well."
Letting Rune Soul disappear, he manifested a concentrated ball of Over-soul, letting it float around his hands as a will-o-wisp. "The Darkness that you exist in is your well- without a light, you won't be able to see. Without a soul, you won't be able to feel...what I can do is plant enough of my soul into the heart that resides in you, and re-ignite its light, or at least a small fraction of it. I don't know what will happen, nor what the consequences for both of us would be for such an action.
"My best guess is that if this succeeds, what you experience and what you feel will help give you the answers you seek and strengthen your heart, as well as make the 'soul' I plant your own. On the other hand, if you continued to fester in your darkness, you'd lose the soul and you'd probably be worse off. And if the process fails...well, that's a wild card. You may just as well steal my body and soul, and leave my heart in the position you're in," he joked, half smiling at the woman. "You'd probably get a kick out of that."
"Or you can ignore my words, pull whatever fun toy you have from your hammer-space, and continue your thoughtless stampede, forging this all together. In the end, I ask you to consciously make a choice...to merely exist, and ride the wave of fate, or take a chance and kick fate to the curb and live." Taking hold of the sphere of energy, he half offered it to the existence known as Eve.
"Your move."

The memories just kept coming, flashing and being frizzy, everything was generally in a blur. For the most part this was a good breather, althought somehow the words she was saying wasn't her own. Must've been her former self, Eclair, damn that weaking for fighing the darkness. Well it didn't matter now, she was gone and all that was left was to take everything and make it her own. But for now she need to play the weak and ... ugh 'pathetic' for now.
A... chance to find the answers? But I... fear that the answers... will hurt. Which maybe a taste... of karma that you may like. The darkness takes everything, people, knowledge, items... it holds on to them. It may take me back, leaving your... in vain.

((If you have an issue, feel free to PM me with suggestions))
"You know, if you keep up this flip-flopping between knowing and not knowing, I'm gonna make this decision for you," he scowled, crossing his arms despite the blood running down his side. Trying to emotionally reach a heartless was like trying to shoot the moon with a bottle rocket- great in theory, but not enough goods or firepower to go through with it. "And I'm getting sick of you putting off the choice- yes or no, it's as simple as that. Either cower in terror here in the darkness, afraid to face yourself, or take a look in the mirror."
The words, despite sounding irritated, were carefully chosen- he would need to stir what little soul was left in the heartless known as 'Eve' to pull this off, and emotion inflames the soul...if he could get one strong emotion...he'd be able to leave intact. With sympathy burnt out, he would have to turn to more dangerous emotions. "You claim how the darkness is all powerful and consuming? Well, I suppose you would know- you made it, after all.
"Regret, Fear, Anger, Despair, Desire- these emotions breed in the shadow of the heart, and when the heart falters they rise up, and encompass the heart in shadow- the part becomes the whole. You claim to want to be stronger than the person you were 'born' from? Stop hiding and lying- you were just too weak, too easily manipulated, and you gave into your darkness.
"You are her. She is you. You're hiding behind this mask, this persona, because you can't handle the simple truth- you gave in. You fell into shadow. You regret falling; you fear being exposed; you ferment in anger; you lament in despair. You desire what you don't have. You talked about running from the past? Babe, you're hiding from the mirror in front of you- you can't even acknowledge yourself!" He yelled at the top of his lungs, letting what little Over-soul he had flare up around him.
Standing in silence, he turned on a heel and began to walk away. "Forget this- I don't want to deal with someone who is too afraid to see their own reflection," he called out, walking in the direction of the place where he had drawn the circle earlier. If this didn't strike a chord within her, if it didn't rouse her spirit...then nothing that he could do would.
Take the bait...take the bait.

With her hands off to the side they were forcefully pulled together and down into the ground, forcing Eve to kneel. The images stop as one final image came across her face. Although not clear, she could tell it was the last moments of Eclair's life. Out of all the memories these were the clearest. She just smiled at herself as she watched Elcair's face froze with fear at that last moment.
Maybe I'm flip-flop... but that doesn't really matter sometimes in 'life' you have to be a litte flip-flop. Much like right now. Slowly getting to her feet she started pulling her arms out of the portal of darkness, pulling something else too. And another thing, you think I gave in? You may be right, partically, in reality she was engulfed by the darkness. Much like anything else, running away from it. She went far I'll give her credit but in the end she was engulfed by it. She never gave in to it, so I guess in reality you were wrong about it. And with that she pulled out Cross-Shadow Weapon holding it up vertically. And by the way... I have no reflection to look at anymore, nor a need to.

"If you don't need it, then why bother to remember?"
Gotcha.
Pausing mid step, Iryoku looked over at his right shoulder, offering Eve a simple look, neither angry nor upset. "To remember is to see the reflection. To acknowledge means you've analyzed the reflection. If you had no need to do so, then why are you? The answer's simple- because no matter how much you lie to me, or to yourself, the truth is you are looking at the mirror. You have been this entire fight. Also," he added, motioning to her new weapon, "The fact that only now you're starting to use such a power means you don't want to hear what I'm saying because it bothers you, though if you didn't want to bother with this at all, you would have gone full power from the moment you entered the field. Which means, from the start, you've wanted something."
With my speed, I can only dodge, or exchange a blow. I could make it to the array, but I wouldn't have the time to activate it. Besides...the soil has become proper- if I can get that blow, this will all be over.
"I will say this again," Iryoku offered, turning toward her and summoning Rune Soul into his hand. "You can walk away from this fight at any time- I bear you no ill will. However, I will beat you with all of my strength," he exclaimed, letting his Over-soul flicker with resolve.
One spell, one trump card, one chance to land the blow. I like the odds. And...if she really didn't want to be prodded like this...
"And with my Soul, I will beat you down, how ever you may come!"
Couldn't she just have walk away?

((As much as I want to continue this 'fight to the death' I still kinda need Eve for another thread. Maybe next time we could continue this fight again at a different place. Savy? And by the way all that stuff you said IC... that's deep man, goes straight to my 'soul'. LOL.))
Eve now had one big grin on her face, So we've finally come down to the final stand. This may be one of my more interesting fights I've had in a long time.. Slowly Eve lifted the sword horizontal with the ground, there was a slight strain but that was to be expected with a good sized sword. I maybe lying or not but I only use this when I feel I need to. The only reason I don't use this all the time is because it takes the fun out of death fights like this. Think of it this way, the hero and the villian are doing the final showdown and only one will last. It's this kind of thing thats makes a fight so... exciting. So in the end, who will be the last one standing and to tell the tale? You, who walks through his world 'making his own destiny'... or me, a heartless woman 'lost in the darkness of her self-denial'? And with that Eve made her 'final' dash attack ready to deliver the 'final blow'.

((No worries there, I have no intention of killing off anyone- besides, Iryoku isn't the kind of guy to go about killing anyone unless it was absolutely the only and best route available. Besides, I intend on planting a plot device for future threads, if you're up to it.))
"Who said anything about me being a hero?" he smirked, readying himself into an offensive stance, left hand out front and sword over his shoulder. "And who said anything about me killing you? The only things I've said is that you're free to leave, or else I'll beat you down."
I won't get another shot.
"Once your desire to fight is gone, or your ability to do so, I intend of leaving and finding another, more peaceful planet to take a nap on. You're the only one here who desires any bloodshed.
20 yards.
"It's pathetic- as is stands, it seems like you'll always be lesser than who you once were."
10 yards. Right as the blow lands. One shot.
Damn it all.
