They say that black holes are invisible to the naked eye. I disagree; sometimes they are right in front of you.
The battle-hot air of Beast's Castle was something of a miracle amongst the galaxy. It was the exact same temperature as it had been, oh, twenty minutes ago. However, the tension in the air, the unexpectedness of your opponent's next move... It was so... enthralling. How could one convey the mix of fear and excitement that came with such an enticing match? It's quite simple, really.
You put them in one.
For the time of the invasion, a man had been lurking in the shadows of Beast's Castle. The dark, black shadows of the corners provided such good cover for those who wanted to stay hidden from their foes. Light was so annoying. It revealed who you are, it showed your face when you did not wish for it to be shown! How could you use such a despised element? Ghast twitched his face as he sensed light from Riku's keyblade...
However, this twitch was enough to give him away. He stepped out of the shadows. His red trenchcoat fell down to his ankles, and Ghast's pale, slender face was exposed to the dull lighting of the castle. It was unlikely that Riku had seen him, but he didn't care.
The boy would be dealt with no matter the case. It was obvious that Ghast's assistance was needed in this matter. They needed to stick to the plan...
A small show of black lights formed around the area of Ghast's right hand. A vicious weapon, three spikes on either side, appeared in a wave of darkness. Ghast's keyblade, obtained from his ultimate ruthlessness and cruel heart, had appeared to its master's side. "Arise, my glorious champions. You have work to do..."
These malicious words called forth two beasts not known to many. Slasher and Basher, two large and strange men who looked like clowns. Their white make-up and indefinite scowl looked something like Ghast's natural face, but their dark intents were easily seen. Human once, the clowns had once been ruthless killers, free from all bounds. Now they were just ruthless killers.
Ghast walked forward to his last line of Barons, the clowns following him. His comrades may or may not have been aware of his presence. It... did not matter. "I think it is time that I entered this little skirmish, don't you think so, Theron?" spoke the leader to his minion.

(OOC: Well, since it seems that the posting order has gotten a little kerskuffled, and since I have a few things in-story that I need to address, I suppose I'll post next.) Theron had been wondering when the group's glorious leader would arrive... it seemed, however, that the trench coat clad Ghast had, in fact, been present for quite some time. The young d'Metreon heir made a mental note to never be caught slacking off while there were shadows around. "I think it is time that I entered this little skirmish, don't you think so, Theron?" The boy merely shrugged. "At your leisure, Lord Ghast... though perhaps having you fight is pushing the line of overkill." He turned back to watching Riku, a vague expression of boredom etched on the princely Baron's features. "I don't think he's that dangerous, personally... but, by all means, do as you wish m'lord." (OOC: Also, since posting order has become complicated and whatnot, is anyone in favor of an alternative approach? Here's what I suggest: team turns. Essentially, instead of waiting for specific people to post the teams simply take turns being "up to bat"; when Player A on Team 1 posts, Team 2 has ten days any of their players to post (time reset if, for instance, Player B on Team 1 posts after Player A -- first post in the sequence sets the timer). Can we agree to this?)

The stranger perched above the chaos seemed yet unnoticed. Unnerved by the commotion it grasped at its heart, as if suffering from an attack, and bent over. So many hearts had united together to seek to claim this place, and a single powerful heart had appeared to defend it... elsewhere in this castle was a heart in turmoil and a heart of absolute purity... and then an anomaly. If any more of these gathered the being wasn't certain that it could handle the stress.
Torn between two sides, now unable to decide what to fight for or even if it had a real reason too the robe one slowly began to turn transparent until it had vanished completely. Had it left the world, or simply been unable to remain while two so opposite sides were maintaining a chaotic balance? Even it wasn't sure.

And that's when Iznan burst in.
Like any good dramatic entrance, Iznan was dead set on bringing all attention to himself, regardless of any other things going on; the exiled spider prince did that in the best way he knew how. Start loud and get louder. The doors that had previously fallen shut were kicked open with a loud slam. In the most dramatic fashion possible, Iznan waltzed into the room stopping a few feet from any one figure, and throwing his arms out wide. "Gentlemen! I have arrived! No need to worry any longer!" The smirk on his face, was one that described how truly full of himself Iznan was.
With a kick to the inner wall of the doorway, the doors shut behind him, and Iznan stalked forward, keeping outside the area of battle, but getting a good view. So far most everyone was just standing about, minus Amari, and a few others who had made some attacks. But mostly Amari. He ignored whatever response he may have gotten, but did take special care to Smirk towards Prince Theron and Lord Ghast. They might ignore him, they might not, but they would both know that his attention had been towards them for a brief moment.
He ended up standing beside the action, but away a few meters. This would keep enough distance for him to stay out of it, but close enough to take in what was really going on. The silver-haired teen was strong, and Iznan definitely didn't want to get in the way of his fury. That left one more apparent target. "The armor is mine!" He claimed, pointing to the White Knight. To the other Barons this might seem comical, but to anyone who looked into his eyes, they'd see a seriousness that Iznan himself was fully unaware of.
What appeared to be a black fog clouded over his forearms, but this fog quickly revealed itself to be a swarm of spiders that had apparently crawled out of Iznan's jacket sleeves. And when they all dropped away and skittered to the darkest corners of the room, they had left in place a pair of golden gauntlets. These gauntlets were strange however. They had fittings for the fist that allowed no movement for the fingers, and pointed directly out of each fist was a shimmering blade. The Tarantula and Black Widow Katars of which he was famous for.
"Don't let me down now. With all that armor, you better accept a skin'n'bones little kid's challenge."
[Check out the weapon descriptions in his profile. There's a lot to these simple things.]

As Amari started swinging he saw Riku attack Laetus. In the middle of his swing when the tip of his sword was pointed at Laetus he used pulse aura. This sent Laetus sliding five feet away at most (Laetus weighs approximetly 500lbs so dont know), hopefully allowing him to dodge the lasers and the keyblade.
Amari changed the position of his weapon a little. He brought it closer to Riku and tilted it down a couple of degrees. As he approached Riku at the top of the stairs he jumped away at the last second, as to only nick Riku. He landed on the higher railing on the right side, ready to attack.
As he landed he noticed a new presence that he wasn't used to. He glance over and down. 'A big white suit of armor, something tells me it's not on my side.' He thought to himself. Amari turned his focus back on Riku. He had only looked away for a moment but that could still hinder his efforts. 'Worry about the new guy, if need be, later.'

Somehow, Amari blew his undoubtedly heavy summon five whole feets with Pulse Aura, which can't even break down a wall, just before Riku could hit the large, difficult to miss target (after he had parried most of Dark Aura and was already in the middle of attacking Riku).
If Amari could change the degrees of his weapon, then surely Riku could react to that change quite easily? Without a firm hit, Counter-guard could not be activated. However, because Amari jumped away, either sideways or backwards, he couldn't possibly match the speed at which Riku could jump -forward- towards Amari. Right? Because that's what he did. Riku pursued the fleeing Amari step for step, leaping as the other boy leapt. And, in midflight, Riku would unleash six simultaneous slashes at the boy, aiming to take off his hands (especially, if that didn't work, during that brief moment Amari turned away. A mistake.), legs, several of those attacks even trying and bore a wound in the boy's chest and take off his head [Dark Break]. Chances were any attempts by Amari to block with his own sword would be knocked away with the momentum of Riku's forward leap and the six to one ratio of sword strokes in Riku's favor.
Of course, following the boy had the added effect of being able to evade the large lasers fired off by Zeke's minions. At least for now.
Come what may, Riku would not be defeated by the likes of them. He had faced worse enemies. There were only two people who could possibly defeat him...!

Ah, a newcomer! Theron had almost overlooked the white suit of armor, so intent were his studious attentions on the silver-haired Keyblader. The young Baron glanced over as Iznan made his bid for combative glory, then quickly returned his attentions to the fight.
Just in time, too. Seemed the castle's defender was making a rather aggressive move toward Amari. Now that certainly wouldn't do...
One of Theron's pawns pulsed with white light for a moment as the boy Baron flicked his wrist forward, triggering the piece's special move. Instantly the oversized game token shot forward, not at Riku but at Amari. Sadly, it wouldn't arrive in time to block the Keyblader's rapid assault -- that was for the summoner to deal with -- but it would be there to serve as a physical roadblock between the two shortly thereafter. Meager protection, true, but it would stand its ground... and serve to get Riku's attention.
"Two questions." Theron spoke up, still idly leaning forward on his sword-hilt. "One: who exactly are you... and two: why do you oppose us?"
There were still traces of a grin on the young lord's face, though the curiosity seemed real enough. Perhaps Riku had indeed impressed him somehow?

If someone doesn't post soon, Iznan is claiming victory. Neither The Defenders nor The Barons win. Iznan does.

As the current leader of the Barons, I am now delcaring that we have won under the terms of the three-day rule between Nascent's post, and, well, the post that has yet to come. We have all other sides (if there were any more than 1) over three days to post. In fact, we gave it six, nearly a week.
[To my fellow Barons, no, this is not up for discussion any longer. I've been looking around the board, and none of us have been too terribly active. So we are just going to take this win and get our activity stabilized. I understand, we all have lives here.]

(Actually, the rules have been worked on by the staff since these very issues popped up in this thread. That is why there is adisclaimer at the top of the rules right now stating that disputes should be escalated. That is, as opposed to just claiming victory from them as they are now.
Now, if Akito and FSA still wish to surrender, that's their right. It won't be escalated unless there is a dispute, but we should leave the thread unlocked for now just to let them say what they want to do.)

[ *has done some talking* I'll post, then Amari will. Okay? ^^ ]The silver haired teenager was a foolish child. A grin stretched back on Major Roesch's angular face as he brought his arm back.
A side note here... Major Roesch is an incredibly big fan of making people look like fools. This love and interest in the art of April Fools has cultivated a lasting interest in the game of chess, which requires a good deal of foresight.
In war, Roesch's grim grey eyes can see the flow and inevitable path to come, if only at a limited amount. All people feel this flow-- it's known as the warrior's rage, getting into the zone, or the cold blooded fight. Roesch was one of the few people who could see it, and use it well to his advantage.
He did so now, while the boy wonder was busy ignoring him and the eight men in his command.
The major's arm lunged forward, jettisoning the spear Retribution through the battle filled air, just as the dynamic pair made to leap into the air.
Unless Riku made to defend himself immediately, the attack would make a hefty blow before he could deliver Dark Break, though no guarantees could be assured to the previous attacks launched midair.
<---->
From under his heaver brows, Lt. Colonel Engram looked up at the suit of white armor before himself and Theron.
It was very clearly not for show-- the tell tale grooves of flourish and ineffective show were not present. The warrior must have paid good munny for that suit, and had a good eye for it too.
As air slipped between the gloved fingers in response to the fist tightening, Engram's grim scowl fell a little lower.
He respected that Theron wished to institute a little communication first, though... for now, at least.

(ooc- i edited my last post to say five feet at most, i thought i did that in the first place but apparently not, so... sorry)
This boy was fast, a bit too fast. Amari lost his increased speed and strength by the time he jumped diagonally away from Riku. He landed then jumped away again, repeatedly. He was too slow. Riku easily caught up with Amari. Amari was out of rope so to say. Amari held his sword defensively as he jump, expecting something magnificent but painful from his opponent.
It seemed to Amari that his allies wanted to play with Riku and he(it sounds wrong but technically is right thought might as well do it for my English teacher). They were doing something, but he didnt have time to pay attention to them. He tried to gain distance from his opponent. If Riku was to get off Dark Break Amari would try to block a couple hits, holding his sword as to guard as many vital points as he could.
(also sorry it is a shorter post im limited on time and ic movements that can actually be said right now.)
