Emi stepped back as more fighting broke out. But this time, she wasn't scared. In fact, she wanted to join them.
She shouted to Fi "Should we try and help them?!"

"Note to self: no more Wutai martial arts movie marathons"
Reno was curious. He had fought Wutai punks before - fast little suckers for all the good that it did them. He'd seen them snatch bullets out of mid-air and while it wasn't something that he'd ever planned on trying (yeahno. Catching bullets practice belonged in the sock drawer of Bad Ideas) the arrow was slow enough to make him curious.
So he caught it. In retrospect, a stupid move. The bum had lit it on *magical* fire. So of course it had seared straight to the bone or near enough. He'd tossed it away before it could do real damage but it *hurt*. He avoided the second arrow entirely, sort of expected the bow to explode and thus leaped a bit more than absolutely necessary in order to get away from it.
Archer was charging him. Huh.
Close combat. With a Turk? Either this guy was good or had a death wish. Snapping out the stun baton, he met the attack head on with the baton's electrified end. Either the two energies would cancel each other out or they wouldn't - in which case the archer was going to end up with a paralyzed arm and Reno with one less stun baton. A fair trade.

Oh, how Vidrel's arm stung. The stun baton had intercepted his left arm, completely disabling it. He'd have to hope the baton wouldn't do this all the time. He jumped up, throwing his foot out with a kick backed by a Pulse Aura. He wasn't entirely sure it would hit, but if it did, surely it would do some damage. Even if blocked by the stun baton (assuming the baton still worked), the kick would render it useless. For how long, it was unknown, for Shinra seemed to possess a level of technological ability far above most companies.
Vidrel threw a quick glance at the little girl, for he had heard her ask the dragoon-in-training if they should help. He couldn't decide whether or not to tell her not to, or to say nothing. She'd have to learn sometime. Vidrel opted to say nothing, and proceeded to hope his kick landed. He could still fight a little with one arm, he couldn't do much. Vidrel just needed to draw Reno close to his right arm...

"Nice footwork."
Baldie had a mean kick. Dilan's arm was still paralyzed - normally he'd be significantly faster than the Turk, but it was difficult compensating for the dead weight and lack of mobility though the sudden battle was making him learn rather quickly. He was already starting to get used to this. Watched as the stun baton whistled over his head, danced to the left and then to the right as the guy methodically tried to box him towards the Shinra building. Classic boxing tactics. Xaldin considered the lean profile and the unlikely strength : former kickboxer, perhaps?
Heh. Whatever. Those kind of maneuvers didn't work against a dragoon.
"Kids, stay back," Dilan ordered curtly as he dodged another blow. The problem in this fight was an unfamiliar one: baldie was both taller, armed with superior weapons, had a longer reach and was quite possibly stronger. Maybe even a lot stronger. Also, Dilan couldn't risk getting hit - if he lost another limb, he'd be in an unfriendly place reaaaal soon. Fudge. Cheesecakestamps created the stamp above!

Mr. Dilan had told her to stay back but when a blow came close to hitting him and then her, Emi reached her breaking point. Mr. Dilan was going to lose and she couldn't let that happen! Because if he lost, what happened to her and Fi?
She turned to Fi. "Can I borrow your spear?"

Fi looked at the girl talking to him slightly incredulously. She wanted his lance!? He doubted she could use it, but just wanted to help.
"Sorry, but a Dragoon never gives up his lance, unless he's on death's door. It's the rules. I'll help Mr. Dilan though. Just stay back and try not to get hurt, okay?"
With that, the young Dragoon charged Rude's back, slashing at his back with the wood lance.
"I'm going to beat you down!" [Oh noes! Org-jack! Not really, it's Homac.]

Emi rolled her eyes at the boy. If they didn't do something soon, they may have very well been at death's door. But he violated a direct order from Dilan and rushed out to help, slashing the big bald guy while Emi was still on the side lines. She had no weapon but her fists. She looked down at her hands, took a deep breath and ran after Fi to gang up on Rude. While he slashed, she jumped on his back and began beating...

"Holy f-"
His baton smoldered. Reno pffft'd and threw it over his shoulder, letting the piece of scrap metal bounce off Shinra's fancy-smancy front lawn. Somewhere away from him, his partner was busy duking it out with Mr. Dilan and by the sounds of the whiffs and near misses, keeping the dragoon on his toesies. Good, good.
Leaning backwards, Reno easily dodged the archer's kick.
He was floored, however, by the unexpected follow-up attack. Something vaguely telekinetic - a bubble of force or something similar - extended far beyond the original range and quite literally sent him crashing down into the ground with an 'ooof'. Tears streaming down his face he told the archer: "Crap man, low blow. Looow."
Apparently the range of the attack had hit something fairly precious. Whether he was out for the count was difficult to say.

"..."
Rude grimaced. Unlike his partner, he had compunctions against fighting children. They were weak, scrawny and tended to be strategic flashpoints around which tensions simmered. Off-limits in terms of combat roles.
They were dumb too.
As the girl leaped onto his back, the other continued to flail about, only narrowly missing her. Clearly their communication needed work if they planned to continue in this particular vein of employment.
"Kids, gerrof-"
Then his head snapped back. Before the darkness dawned, Rude realized that Dilan had no similar morals. Clearly a street fighter, the man had taken the chance to get him right under the chin.

...vaguely telekinetic - a bubble of force or something similar - extended far beyond the original range and quite literally sent him crashing down... [/blockquote]
=[ d'oh! I thought Pulse Aura was around your strike zone o.O sorry! Reno fell to the ground after the kick. His stun rod gone, he was now defenseless. Vidrel stole a quick glance at Dilan and... the kids? Why were they fighting? No matter now... He turned his head back, raising his hand, his palm facing Reno. " I'll give you a choice..." He spoke with a rugged air, and fire started wrapping around his hand. " You can leave... Or you can try to keep fighting." There was, of course, a chance of Reno winning, but that didn't seem likely. Vidrel pushed it out of his mind. The bald guy and Reno could make a good team, for sure, and they were definitely great fighters... They also seemed unhappy with their current job. Maybe they could infiltrate Shinra with Dilan and Vidrel. Then again, he worked for Shinra, and had a chance of betraying them. Besides, they had these kids to look after. " So, what's it gonna be?"

[ooc: xD I may have misinterpreted pulse aura. Believe it or not, this is the first time I've ever seen *anyone* use it in the time I've been here. Also, I'm not entirely sure why you're apologizing. Don't. It makes me wonder what I did wrong. o.o;;] ic:
"Pfffft." Reno said glumly. "S'alright. Family jewels are important - don't wanna have to worry about them all the live-long day while I'm taking you guys apart piece by piece." Wincing, he got up slowly, clearly still pained from the kick. "Aww dang, Rude too? Man, what's this world coming to?"
Digging into his pocket, he held out four passes.
"Here, take the suckers." His voice was poised and seemingly honest, but his eyes betrayed him: they held a mad glint of someone about to do something foolish.

Emi pursed her lips at the unconscious form of Rude on the floor and gave him an extra kick in the ribs for good measure. She flashed a smile (Gasp, Emi could smile?) and the thumbs up at Fi and something caught her eye. Mr. Dilan and Reno, the red headed man that had his butt handed to him were talking and Reno was holding out 4 cards. Security passes.
Emi walked over and pulled on Dilan's sleeve. When he looked down, she looked up. She stood on her tip toes and whispered "Don't trust him. Look at his eyes."
Funny what kind of stuff kids pick up on.

Lowering his hand and stopping the fire, Vidrel grabbed a pass, unsure of what to think. For someone like him to give up so easily? Something was off here... Though they did have the passes. Vidrel would overlook it this time. It wasn't going to be much longer until they were inside. What would they do then? He was almost tempted to knock Reno out, just to be sure... but his partner was down, so he probably didn't pose too much of a threat. Vidrel had taken him alone, and now there were 4 of them; Reno didn't stand a chance without his stun rod. For now, at least, they were probably safe.

"Shoulda trusted the girlie, sweetheart."
As Vidrel's hand moved towards the passes, Reno made his move. Quick as a bullet, his left hand snaked out and firmly clasped Rolt's forearm. Pulling the younger man towards him, Reno performed an awkward headbutt that left his ears ringing and temporarily stunned the archer.
For a moment he seriously contemplated giving twice as much pain to the archer as the archer had given him. But that'd probably start something he wouldn't be able to finish. Especially since Rude had been so appallingly lacking in etiquette as to actually be taken down by a Castle brat and two street rats.
Dusting himself off, Reno carelessly threw the passes onto the ground as he moved to collect his partner.
"Be seeing y'all."
Giving a cheery salute, the redhead walked off.

Emi moved quickly, more quickly than Vidrel had, and grabbed up the passes from where they lay on the ground before someone could head butt her. With a dirty look, she handed the passes out. One for herself, one for Dilan, one for Fi and one for Vidrel.
"Nice one, moron," she muttered at Vidrel. She tucked her pass into the back pocket of her shorts.

Fi quietly took a pass from Emi, giving her a small "Thank you."
Then he walked over to Dilan, and prodded him with his training lance.
"Mr. Dilan? You alive?"
