Gulp
The view over the edge of the floating hunk of rock His Majesty was now stranded on wasn't every encouraging. Perhaps not as bad as the dark rift that roared ever-stronger above them though. Still, Mickey knew he needed to be brave as always and mustered his strength to the matter at hand.
Magus had been nowhere to be seen on the island. A mysterious stranger on the other hand had made a rather large claim to the King, that the memory beings within the castle's walls were actually real people who had never made it out. That would apply to the girl Dante was now approaching as well.
That seemed like an important moment for the boy though, so Mickey stayed quiet for now and watched for danger at a close-enough distance. He also re-secured the Shadow tucked to his side which hadn't disappeared. If they fought another battle it would be tough to do so while carrying the thing.

Ange whirled around, her hair flopping back and almost into her face now.
She had a good face. It wasn't some innocent girl, nor someone who's seen too much of the worlds. Ange was Ange-- experienced enough to work with things.
Her eyebrows shot up at the sight of Dante. For a moment, her mouth moved, and her voice caught. This... this wasn't...
She frowned. And furrowed her eyebrows. Gritting her teeth, Ange whirled back around, and away from Dante.
"Go-- go away!" she shouted over the wind, distress ringing soundly with her voice, and with her arms crossed.
[Short, but sweet. And not sweet.
Guess I was wrong about that 5 round warning, eh? Meh. Surprises are fun.]

Dante stood in the rage of gusts, his clothes rippling in the stress of the storm. He seemed to be frozen in place; eyes open wide and his mouth shut. Ange didn't seem to like his appearance anymore, seeing as she turned right back around. Why would he go away now, after all he had been through to find her on this island? Why didn't she want to see him anymore? It was the Castle's doing, it had to be. The warrior placed his hand on her right shoulder, hoping he could at least talk to her without her biting back.
"Ange... Why don't you want to see me anymore?" The warrior made no attempt to turn her around again, for it might injure his chance for a meaningful conversation. He wanted to say something out loud right now, but his body told him to calm down. His Heart was beginning to hurt again, much like it had when he first appeared in Hollow Bastion.

"Dante be careful!" Mickey said with a sudden sense of urgency. The boy seemed to be surprised by what he was hearing from the girl, but that was impossible. A memory being created by the castle can't act differently than Dante himself remembers them unless he had forgotten something. This girl, well, she seemed important to him. What were the odds he'd have forgotten?
The safe explanation was that it was a memory of her from an earlier time than Dante last knew her and she was reacting to unknown circumstances.
The dangerous one was that it was a trap.

Ange stiffened. Her eyes darted around, desperately searching for some kind.. some kind of answer. She found none. Ange's shoulders fell, along with her hopes. Looking up, Ange sought out far away, where the darkness had already reached. "Dante..." WHAM In a blur of motion, Ange twisted around and shot her elbow hard against Dante's neck. Darkness poured from the attack, from the elbow, and made to enhance the attack dramatically. But the blow was definitely softened. It meant to knock him out, though it did no such thing. "...I'm sorry."

Dante's knock backwards was softened by a mouse who had jumped in his way, bringing the momentum to a stop before he could be knocked on his back. His Majesty then fell back down to the solid ground, which was really floating in the air and thus questionable as far as solid goes, and moved to the boy's left side.
"Don't trust anything you see in Castle Oblivion Dante," the King warned as he bored his Darkside forward in a defesive stance with his right hand and cradled the unconscious Shadow with his left. "We'll have to defeat her if we want to escape this memory world."
Fighting would be tough for Mickey like this, though.

The elbow rammed into Dante's neck, sending him back without breath. Mickey softened his landing, thankfully, but he was still coughing roughly. The warrior gasped as he fought for air, his face planted into his arm. His eyes wandered up to meet Ange's, desperately trying to find any sign of emotion. "Ange... I..." Dante stood up, shaking as the wind blew hard across his body.
"Forgive me." Dante summoned his cleaver, eyes focused on the defeat of this 'other' Ange. "Mickey. Make sure not to hold back. This is our enemy, just like the Heartless." Rings of darkness formed under the 'other' Ange, the measures illuminating. "Shadow Melody!" The notes shot up as Dante raised his hand, his heart a bit broken.

Angeline looked down in surprise at the flowing rings of darkness, forming to make measures. "W- what? How--" BAMF! Ange was shot back, and even a little up, as the musical notes blasted from the measures. Groaning, she hefted herself to her feet. "Fine," she spat. "I can play rough too." Opening her hands wide, Angeline fell to a low crouch-- a stance, excuse me. A combat stance, with her hands wide open and forward, one lower than the other. But she didn't charge. Her eyes fell on Mickey's Keyblade, and lingered there momentarily. Ange blanched, and began to step sideways in a circle around the two. She waited for their move. And she never looked Dante in the eyes all the while.

The warrior stared at Ange as she circled around the two, her eyes straying towards the keyblade. Dante placed both hands on the hilt of his weapon, digging his feet into the raging sand. His hair scratched ferociously at his face, though it didn't really bother him. Dante wanted to know so many things right now, questions blarring through his mind. One question, a simple one, stuck to his mind. "Ange," the warrior started nervously,"Why are you fighting us? We don't want to cause harm, we just want to leave the Islands."
Dante loosened his grip, trying to catch glimpse of her eyes. He made a step to the side, his gaze now traveling to her waist. If he remembered correctly... The center of gravity was a good way to know when and how the enemy was going to strike. If he remembered anything from Kassom, it would be this small fact. He would be able to parry a swift attack if he was quick enough. Dante began to speak again, his voice a bit more firm and to the point.
"Ange, please. Stop this childish mannerism. Please... I don't want to hurt you."

"Let's just try to stop her without hurting her if we can," Mickey agreed with a whispered squeak. He pointed his Keyblade forward and began to fire a steady stream of small Pearl bullets her way, moving his aim with her if she moved to dodge.

"Leaving the Islands was what you were supposed to do!" Angeline yelled. Darkness swarmed to her now clenched fists, enveloping them and creating what was definetly a decently sized sphere. As her hands moved, the darkness in the spheres ebbed in a motion trail along behind each movement, and didn't deplete the darkness that made up the spheres. Stepping forward, Ange swung her right arm down. This time, the motion path behind the sphere stayed, and was much more thick. It also depleted the Darkness there, thogh only slightly. With a quick spin, Angeline's foot slammed into the Darkness, sending it flying towards the two. She quickly brought up a second strip of Darkness to defend her. This stretch of Darkness was as high as Angeline, and it defended her from the brunt of Mickey's Pearls. A few made it past, but not enough to phase her. [ANGELINE'S HEALTH] [Check out the new health bar! Bosses will have this nifty health bar that gives you a more detailed description of how they're holding up. It's green, orange, red, than black bars that're on top of each other, like in the games.]

And now was the time for his plan to come into action. Dante stepped in front of Mickey, his shield popping up to guard him. It was only able to be used on Dante, of course, but by staying in front of Mickey, he would be able to protect them both. The strip slammed into the shield, shattering the barrier into glass like pieces before dissapearing. The warrior felt a little pain from the collision with the barrier, his chest becoming sore.
"You're a sour memory, Angeline Coble! I'm going to severe the bond between my heart and your memory! Get ready to see what true Darkness is like," Dante yelled as his body began to glow with a black outline. This was Dark Starling, a desperate attack used for 'special' occasions. This battle would be considered as one of those occasions. With speed and strength increased by tenfold, the warrior had to give in to the pain.
Now, a regular punch would feel like a strong kick to the gut. Dante lashed out towards Angeline, his right fist ready to crack a bone, or two. His cleaver mysteriously vanished, though...
[OOC: Yay! Time for Dante to become less emo.]

[ Nice touch, Rocket ]
Mickey appreciated the defence though he worried what this experience might do for Dante. For now he would trust in the strength of the boy's heart to handle the darkness and win this fight together.
His Majesty still didn't take much action, instead pointing his Keyblade upward and allowing a single full-power Pearl to appear. It would arc up and over before coming down toward Angeline, hunting its target. Hopefully it would offer support for Dante's melee attack.

Looking between the two- a Light sphere heading for her (presumedly) in a roundabout fashion, and a Dante with flowing dark energy- Angeline gritted her teeth and barreled forward, directly for Dante. "True darkness," she growled, "is something you can keep." She was suspiciously quiet about that heart/memory bond comment Dante had made. [ANGELINE'S HEALTH]

The warrior suddenly saw Angeline shoot forward at him, his eyes becoming wider. What was she thinking? She had a monster, that was ready to kill at this moment, right in front of her. Was she really trying at all? It doesn't matter. I'm going to kill her with my own two hands! Dante's fist flew right at Ange's face, darkness seeping out.
Dodge damnit! Dodge this and just stop fighting! Dante hoped this would happen. He talked big about wanting to kill her and forget her... but it amounted to nothing in the end. He didn't want to hurt her in any way... but it was for a greater cause, this fight. Winning meant leaving the memory island to meet up with Magus, hopefully. If only Ange stopped now...
