Mickey threw his Keyblade to spin and loop around Dante and the mysterious phantom girl. As it rotated around them it would fire off a smaller Pearl every time it pointed inward at Angeline but never at a time when the path would intercept Dante, creating an inward flux of light energy at the girl if she dodge Dante's attack horizontally. If she dodged vertically then the descending full-strength Pearl was there. His Majesty wouldn't fail to catch the Darkside again once it returned to his grasp.

Time seemed to slow down dramatically for Angeline, as Dante's fist shot out for her. I... I can't want this, she told herself. Even if I take him out...I wouldn't be able to follow through with it.Her face fell, sadness bringing down the rage she'd fought with so hard before, and creating a faded sort of look about her. There's no excuse, or whatever you want to call it.
I messed up. She tried not to, but winced anyway as Dante's fist slammed into the side of her face. Ange fell to the ground, hard and fast. The sand buffered her fall some, but Dante's attack was powered by darkness... when you hit someone with that much darkness pouring out of you, you leave a mark. Darkside performed it's duty well. Though some of the first small scale Pearls missed, due to the girl now being on the ground, seven of the smaller Pearls hit Angeline as she lay in the sand. No Darkness rose to protect her from these, nor the full blown Pearl that came down from the sky which hit her as she struggled to her feet. Angeline found herself back on the ground as the stronger Pearl went through her body, forcing her body numb and unuseable for the moment. But even so... despite her set, emotionless face, and behind the mess of hair... ...no. It's probably just a bead of sweat. Ange wouldn't... [ANGELINE'S HEALTH]

Dante landed the blow, sending Ange roughly to the ground. At first, he wasn't aware of the Pearls and Darkside that curled around him, but when the orbs hit Ange, he winced. Those Pearls must hurt a ton, since it brought the memory back down and kept her there. The warrior noticed something odd about the battle, something that kept him still. "This battle," Dante whispered silently to himself,"Is too easy." He kept this little tid-bit to himself as he dragged himself over to Angeline, staring at the husk.
Madam had to be joking about bringing him one step closer to her. This battle became bland the moment he went for the kill and now... Everything was sort of silent. "Get up, Angeline, or I'll kill you right here. In the back of Dante's mind, he knew that a full sized Pearl stunned anyone it passed through, but the rest of his existence told him that Ange was fine. She could still fight and was just teasing him, waiting for the moment to strike. Then, he dropped to his knees.
He had never used his Darkness to enhance a physical attack before. Darkness was like a giant muscle in his body that controlled everything he did. Doing something new was like exercise for this muscle, and doing it for the first time really depleted his energy. If this was what Ange was waiting for, then she was in a perfect spot to break a few bones, or even kill him if she wanted to. After all of this, he never once looked at Ange's face. He was ashamed to admit it after all of his tough talk, but he still didn't want Ange to die.
She was still a part of his memory and he didn't have the ability to murder a piece of vital history from his Heart. Through the tough times and the hits... he still loved Angeline Coble.

"Dante!"
Seeing the boy collapse after catching his Keyblade again Mickey threw caution to the wind and made a strong leap that would send him up and then down into the space between the boy and the occasionally violent girl. Hopefully he would arrive with his Darkside in a defensive stance before Castle Oblivion attacked again.

Ange shuddered as the last of the Pearl's attack wore off. Aching a lot, the redhead struggled into a half-sitting position, resting on her elbows. And sighed. Looking at King Mickey, Ange gave the monarch a faint grin with a raised eyebrow. "Done this before, huh?" With no small amount of hesitation, Angeline turned her head towards Dante's. Despite the wind whipping her hair all over the place and sore beating she just got, she managed to look okay. "So, mister hot shot Keyblader..." Ange said in a quiet tone, "what do you think of Dante?" Looking sideways at the mouse, Angeline waited calmly for an answer. [ANGELINE'S HEALTH]

The Castle's figment of Dante's memory came in the form of a horizontal Keyblade slash to the body, performed at point blank range from a guarding position just before the girl's eyes actually focused onto the mouse himself. If she should be so inclined to be knocked away, a small pillar of lightning would form out of the ground where she was landing as Mickey pointed the Darkside at it.
"I know this may not be my battle to fight Dante," the King would begin to say should he be allowed enough time to do so afterward. "But... I have someone I couldn't bear to fight against if this place tried to make me to. If it is the same for you then..."
A solemn but kind smile would face the boy imbued with darkness as Mickey uncharacteristically seemed to let his guard down.
"... I don't mind sparing you that burden, if you want me to."
There was no reason to answer the false Angeline's question aloud. Dante and Mickey were the only two who should care about the answer.

Dante didn't answer Mickey, but kept his eyes on the ground instead. He was too tired to make descisions, or even hardly blink! Harsh winds beat the teen, who kneeled on the ground with a sour feeling in his body. His chest pulsed as he took his rough gasps of air, hoping to gain enough energy to stand again. Taking a look at him, one would say he was a pitiful fool, letting his memories seduce him...
Dante looked up with sorrowful eyes, letting his true feeling show. Even still, the skinny swordsman attempted to hide this with a friendly smile, letting his ally know he was still a bit sane. "Mickey... You're a good friend, but there's no burden in removing memories. They're false people, aren't they?" Dante summoned his cleaver to his right hand, stabbing the shifting sand to gain some type of balance. A soft chuckling emitted from Dante's person as he stood, gripping tigthly to the weapon's hilt.
"You, of all people, should know that hurting a memory won't affect the real thing. This is why I need to finish this myself. If I'm ever going to be my old self again, I have to kill of the fake Angeline." Dante staggered forward, staring over Angeline with a smile. "You know... You caused me and my friend here a lot of trouble, Ms. Cobble. If you weren't Angeline, I would've had no trouble going through with this."
"Anything left to say, memory?"
[OOC: Cliche', anyone? XD I felt that this was a good near-ending post, so, cliche' or not, I would've posted it anyways.]

[ YOU'RE ALL SO HEARTLESS AND I APPLAUD YOU. ]
Angeline Coble hesitated. In the face of this Dante... well...
She decided against it.
"No. I... I guess not." she muttered. Falling flat against the barren sand, Ange sighed...
...and waited.

So, Ange decided to just die without a fight, eh? It didn't make him feel any better about doing this, but he didn't want Mickey to kill her, either. "You know... You won't stay dead forever like everyone else," Dante started to explain. It occured to him now, something even more important than what he found out before. A glance was sent towards Mickey, one filled with glee. "Yeah. You're not like us. No one can sever a memory that's important to them, right? It may hurt for a while, but when I return to take a break, you'll be back. Well, that's how I think it works." The swordsman took a seat next to Ange, turning towards the memory and grinning. "Trust me on this one, though. I don't even know why I'm talking to you about this. You're the Ange from my memories, and Ange never worried about things like this."
"Which means you aren't worried either. Ha ha ha!" So many memories from this Island... He didn't want to lose them. Dante bent down and attempted to scoop this Ange up for a hug before he finished this. Ange's hugs always did make things easier to deal with and he hadn't had one in such a long time... "Don't you go changing on me, Ange. Promise me that."
[OOC: Yay for heartfelt moments! I can't kill her yet. I'm still thinking on how I'm going to go about that action, so... Deal with it.]

[You're gonna make me think I'm a lousy Mickey saying things like that, Rocket]
Mickey smiled at Dante's resolve and lowered his own guard a little as the boy and fake girl spoke slightly more. It looked at first as if Dante would be all right... but the words of that strange woman couldn't be forgotten. Mickey knew that saying these illusions were people was a dubious claim at best, but he still said he would listen to her if the girl was left. He should probably try his best to honour that trust and at least attempt to bring Angeline with them without killing her... but the only known way to get the card needed to open the exit was to defeat the boss illusion of the floor.
But then his concern returned with Dante's continued actions. Not the hug... but certain words. He was planning to return here again? To call up these memories again? The mouse's face showed a hint of disappointment while Dante wasn't looking. It wasn't healthy for the heart to rely on illusions for peace... but more so than that, if it weakened his heart the darkness may take hold of him! For this young man that was a very real threat!
Well, Mickey would have to do his best to make a helpful impression on the lad. Whatever he did in the end would be Dante's own choice. If this was the truth maybe it would convince him as well.
"Dante," the mouse said with surprising authority for a being his size. "Let's get the exit card from her and take her with us. there's something strange going on in this castle. Maybe one of the illusions inside of it will offer us a clue on finding Magus and getting to the next floor. I've heard strange things since we arrived."

Ange took a deep breath. Grasping Dante, she felt...
...
...she sighed. "Change nothing." she laughed in a horse tone, whacking him playfully upside the head. "Y'know, you weren't even s'posed to be here-- huh?"
Backing away from Dante, Angeline gave the King a strange look. "Castle? Exit c-- guy, I have no idea what yo--"
Tsk... and here I thought this wouldn't be so hard.
...?
A strange voice filtered in, through the air it seemed, to the minds of the three standing on the wasted island. It was... male?
Though clearly shaken, Angeline scowled and jumped to her feet, fists up and at the ready.
You have no alternative, King, admirable though your intents may be.
Wait, no... now it's leaning towards female. What--
Destroy her! Now!
Back to male.

Ange startled him with her sudden shot up. Well, he would've done the same thing, if he weren't thoroughly confused. A voice lingered in the air, simply rambling on. Did Angeline know anything about this? Dante suspected a fifty-fifty chance of that, but she did seem to act very quickly when this person "arrived". The teen sighed and, if someone listened carefully, a single, humorous huff could be heard, mixed in with the release of air.
The Ex-Apprentice stood up slowly, brushing himself off. He seemed to be getting quite dirt today, not to mention the one time he got wet. He shook his head and glanced over at Mickey's direction with a confused expression. "So, Ange? 'This voice a friend of your's, by any chance," the skinny warrior asked with a slight grin. Well, he should've said "voices", since the gender of this enigmatic person seemed to change without warning.
Dante gripped the weapon tighter, digging his feet into the sand and waiting for a surprise appearance that was sure to occur. "Hey, Mickey! What 'things' have you been hearing? I'd like it if we started sharing a bit more information with each other upon obtaining it. It'd make things easier for all of us."

No choice. Was that so? The heart always has the ability to make a choice. That was the gift of freedom given to all living things. The King had seen it used to both accept the darkness and to free oneself from it as well. It wasn't a power to be taken lightly.
"Looks like we're in a tight spot, friend," Mickey said much more calmly and cheerfully than one might expect possible given the situation. Facing the possibility of being trapped within this castle forever didn't seem to faze His Majesty on the outside. He knew he had to keep up a brave face. "Come here and I'll tell you."
If Dante agreed then Mickey would say quietly to him what happened in the secret spot between himself and the stranger. It was an event that made little to no sense to Mickey, but he recounted it as it was. The illusion of Angeline wouldn't be able to understand anyway, so he asked Dante to come over so that she wouldn't panic more or try asking questions he couldn't answer.

[ Sorry, sorry! Having some trouble figuring out just how to put these next posts... they're very crucial... ;D ]
Ange shook her head in response to Dante's question, still keeping an eye at the fast deteriorating sky. What Mickey and Dante said to each other was their buisiness, she supposed... but still...
The voice(s?) remained silent. But the strange presence... it was like... they were holdig thier breathes, not gone.
What Mickey and Dante decided here would be of no small importance.

Dante, with a bit of hesitation due to the sudden silence, strolled over to Mickey, kneeling down to hear what he had to say. It had to be important, right? There were always things like that in the movies and shows on T.V.! Then again, this was real life and nothing like that ever seemed to occur for the unlucky teen. Those eerie forces in the form of voices... The thought about them simply sent a chill down his spine. But why were they here in the first place?
Weren't those odd Mushrooms the controllers of this castle? Dante sure didn't have a damn clue and he doubted that Mickey did, either.
[OOC: Short, sweet and to the point. I'll be able to write more once I have more to work with other than walking and awaiting for an anecdote.]
