Mickey almost smiled as Dante moved in to help his friend like that. But first there was business to take care of as he arrived on the scene shortly after the boy had, Keyblade flashing into his tiny grip. It was work that the King was well versed in. In his mind the Keyblade Master had already plotted a course that would be carried out now.
Slam at the ground on one as you land at the scene. Jump over the two boys and pelt at any leaping Shadows. Before you begin to fall target one Shadow not flattened out and shoot directly at it with a mid-air jab. Once back on the ground perform a wide swing that slides you across the ground in a C-shaped curve in order to slash through a Shadow coming up out of the ground if necessary or one already out of the ground if not possible. Back flip to between the boys and take out any rising Heartless who may be trying to get there. Jump straight up and then throw yourself into any more leaping Shadows with overhead swipes to change your momentum if necessary, or target one above ground with a mid-air jab if not and afterward if so. Repeat steps 4 through 6 until interrupted or finished.
It would be a truly Majestic display, at least until something went wrong.

Dante's rage had a dramatic effect on his attacks. Each blow he landed immediately blasted the Shadows out of existence. That said, he hit two of the three he gunned after; the one that'd charged Rich had gone flat to the ground after seeing Dante charging forward. Mickey's slam on the ground warned some of the nearby Heartless, three of which leaped into the air to jump away. Unfortunately for them, His Majesty followed them into the air and destroyed them. The King also managed to get a good blow, though not fatal, on a Shadow as he fell to his feet. Heartless Remaining: 10 Shadows (1 badly hurt) All the Shadows suddenly fell flat to the floor and pulled away from the group. They weren't leaving- just backing away some. After making enough room, they started popping up at random and jumping through the air. They currently surrounded the trio. Each time a Shadow managed to make it to the ground, it would fall flat and pull back again. Something's up. They're playing this smart. They're Shadows-- they're not supposed to be smart. Rich nodded Dante in response to his order to stay behind him, ("Thanks, man.") and did so, keeping Dante's back to his. He almost patted him on the back for getting his back, before he realized that probably wouldn't be the safest thing to do. He looked a bit on the surprised sight at the side of the huge cleaver, but he was well and truly wowed by the- well, to him anyway- flying mouse with a key for a sword. Whistling, he asked Mickey, "Do this often?"

"More often than I'd like," His Majesty said with an even mix of sorrow and jest in his squeaky little voice. The Shadows were forming a perimeter now... only one thing to do!
The King's golden Keyblade began to charge up bright light at the tip. He then jumped and back-flipped so that he was directly above and between Dante and Richard, then swung his Darkside so that he would begin to twil around and around in the air, practically hovering on the spot. As he did so the Keybalde released shot after shot of Pearl magic out from the trio... directly into any oncoming Shadows. Even if no above-ground Heartless were in the line of a particular shot Pearls' enemy seeking effect would let it curve and stalk the circle of hostiles around the boys until it did find one, possibly nailing some before they could even jump while others caught Shadows in mid-leap.
Mickeu coudln't keep that up fprever though,. After what felt like over six rotations and oevr a dozen shots of Pearl the King fell back to the gorund between the two and fell down on one knee, breathing a little heavier than before from the magical drain.
Even as he did though he had created a storm of light orbs that would constantly seek out any enemy that made itself tangible and hunt it down while otherwise circling the group and creating a near-perfect defence against them. The Pearls were strong magic, they could keep going for a full three turns.
"Watch the ground!" he said. He knew where the defence was weak.

Dante watched as the mouse did combo after combo on the heartless, leaving the warrior to sit there and protect Richard. When Mickey finally stopped, he summoned orbs around the group, but they wouldn't keep the heartless from going under, which was the exact same thing that the mouse had in mind. "Got it covered, Mickey. Shadow Melody!" The bars that were usually straight were now in a circular formation, covering the earth. Eyes locked onto the ground, Dante watched as the heartless scurried up, making their way into the orb protection field. When one of the heartless appeared from the ground, the Ex-Apprentice raised his hand, sending an orb of darkness into the face of the creature. No matter what happened now, Dante would have to accomplish the task of protecting Richard, even if that meant death in this damned castle. If he died, he would have to ask Mickey to fulfill his personal quest and ask as many people as possible to help him. He wouldn't let Madam take over the world, even if he did die.

[ Nice.] Mickey's Pearls did vast damage, easily downing six Heartless right off the bat. Others went into panic mode, and tried to get into the ground. One of the Shadows dropped a red card as it fell to it's doom. Dante's Melody effectively blasted another two who were halfway to through merging into the ground. The remaining two Heartless ran for it. SECONDARY OBJECTIVE COMPLETE OBTAINED: Rich's Baseball Bat -------- Rich let out air he hadn't realized he'd been holding in. " Wow." Smiling, he patted Dante on the shoulder in thanks. "Dante. I owe you, okay?" He also nodded to the King for his impressive deeds. "You guys were impr-- oh. Duh. Sorry, lemme try again from the top." Richard walked over to Mickey and knelt down, his hand held out to the miniature monarch. "Name's Richard McCune. Call me Rich though, okay?"

Dante nodded, giving Rich a smile as he looked over to see a card. Another red one, eh? Well, it was a waste to just let one sit there forever, so, leaving Richard to talk with Mickey, the warrior walked over to the card and picked it up, examining it. It was a metal baseball bat that Richard used when he and Dante were in baseball together. Oh man, did Dante remember baseball with Richard.
They weren't the best, but they were the bomb, alright. They had fun, win or lose. This castle, it haunted him. Richard was only a memory, but that didn't hide the fact that he now knew that someone could be created through concentration. This information would let Dante create all of his friends and family again when visiting. This was too good. The image he had in his mind was bitter-sweet, already being able to feel his girl's arms wrapped around his neck and holding him in a death grip of love. Dante had to hold back his tears, his hair hanging over his face.
Calming down, he turned to the two, smiling as always. It was a true sight to behold, seeing someone that was in so much pain being able to smile, even in the darkest hours. It hurt, but Dante lived with it. He would have to for the rest of his human life, because when he died, he wouldn't have another chance like he did before. He would have to choose which one of the sides to become or be split and never be able to live like himself again.
"So, you guys getting acquainted easily?"

"Nice to meet you Rich," the King answered, even though the truth was he wasn't actually doing any such thing right now. "You can call me Mickey."
During the handshake Darkside vanished in His majesty's hand again. The mouse still seemed a little out of breath. He wouldn't normally use up so much power against just Shadows, but the key to progressing through this floor of the castle may very well lie in Dante's memories, which meant his image of an old friend could be vitally important. If trouble brewed again too soon the King may have to rely on his young friend for a bit.
Dante called and Mickey released the handshake, looking over to him.
"You seem to be making quite a collection there," the monarch teased, referring to yet another red card that the ex-apprentice of Madam had acquired.

"Collection...?" Rich looked up and over to the card in Dante's hand. "Oh! My bat! The rotten little buggers..." Rich grimaced.
"Those things, whatever they were, stole my bat. 'S how they got me cornered, what with the chasing and... yeah." Obviously, Rich wasn't a big fan of being made fun of. "D'you mind if I get that back? There's more of those things on the island, and I'd really like to be able to defend myself."
His eyes widened. "Crap. Right. We gotta hurry." Rich jumped to his feet and started running down from the platform, beckoning to Dante and Mickey to follow.

Mickey just nodded to Dante and started off after the boy, making sure to stay in pace with the ex-apprentice while trying to catch up to the illusion from the boy's memories. Unless Dante decided not to follow for some reason, in which case the King would halt and ask what was wrong.

"Uh... Well, lets follow Rich, then." Dante leaped from the platform, making his way towards Richard. You seem to be making quite a collection there. Well, that was true. He had both of those Heartless blades and now he found this. By the way Mickey made these things sound, they were pretty powerful in this place.
Why, out of all people, did this Castle choose Richard to be remateriarized? It could've been someone else, right? Well, it didn't really matter that much, as long as he knew that he could create people in Castle Oblivion, he was good.

Rich continued to pump his legs back and forth, dashing forward towards the beach. He made more than a few dangerous jumps, hopping over walls that were there for a reason.
Upon reaching the beach, Rich started to turn for the docks. However, he messed up the turn and ended up face first in the sand. Spewing sand, he scrambled up and ran for the docks.
And stopped. And clenched his fists. "Oh, come on! She was right here!" Throwing his hands (and caution) into the air, he stomped towards the suspiciously empty docks.
"It's Molls, Dante." Rich said as he jumped up onto the docks. "She was just messing around, an'--" Richard turned to Mickey. "It's Molly, my sis. She's missing and- I mean, what with those black things-" He wasn't looking too good. Obviously, she meant a lot to him. His face brightened, though, when his face zipped over to Dante's.
"Hey, you guys didn't see her, did you?" For Mickey's sake, he continued, "She's yea high, blue shirt, ponytail...?"

Dante scratched his scalp, thinking hard. "No... Sorry, Rich. Maybe we can help find her. She has to be somewhere on this island, right?" Well, Dante was partially right. Molly could be on this island, hiding somewhere because of the creatures, but she could also be, as a grim option of thought, dead and now a heartless. Still, Molly was Rich's sister and he couldn't let Molly die. Then, the teen remembered the card, knowing how Rich wanted it back. So, digging into his pocket and pulling out the three cards, he found the bat and replaced the two swords, handing Richard his weapon. "Well, you asked for it, right? You'll need this more than me and Mickey, anyways." A few seagulls flew overhead, squaking and perching on the trees nearby. Dante wondered something; What would happen if he created people in Castle Oblivion? Would they stay there and ceate more people? Could they make their own civilization and be a mirror image of the original world and people? The answer would have to be given in due time when Dante had the time to experiment.

"Hmmm," Mickey hummed as he looked to be in thought. The King then looked up at his partner. "Dante, think of what you can remember about Molly. Picture her in your mind," he instructed, not minding that Richard might not understand.
"Now... what was the very first place to pop into your head for her to be in when you remembered her?"
It wasn't guaranteed to work, but it could at least potentially give the group a direction to start looking.

Rich grabbed the card, (which promptly flared up into the baseball bat,) and nodded his thanks, but his mind was still on Molly.
"What good'll picturing her do?" he asked Mickey rhetorically. Turning away to face the sea, Rich sighed. Today wasn't going very well.

Dante closed his eyes, trying to remember Molly. It had been so long since he had seen her, but that didn't get in the way of him helping the others. Molly... Destiny Islands... Then it hit him. "Last place I saw Molly was in the Secret Place. She had been drawing things on the wall, then I had to go. That's the only thing that I can remember of Molly, other than her appearance and stuff." He hoped not to offend Richard by his forgetfulness, but Molly was a distant figure.
He looked at Mickey, one eyebrow raised. What did Mickey plan on doing with what he had said?
